One of the best events of the year is upcoming…… the 4th Annual Red Hot Chili Cookoff.  $10 buys the whole family unlimited chili samples, music, kids activities, etc.  Where else can you feed the entire family for $10 on a Saturday night.  Individual tickets are available for $5.  Don’t be intimidated by the “red hot” in the name … some are red hot and some are mild.  There is something for everyone.

Time:  3:00 to 6:00 pm

By the way, my mom won the 3rd Annual event so, of course, this is one of my favorite things to do all year.  She will not be competing this year but she is “tutoring” another undisclosed cooker.

Also, if you think you have what it takes to win the competition, all you have to do is fill out an entry form (available from me or at the Y) and bring a crock pot of chili (you don’t have to make a huge load of chili).
