This week’s Rotary of Marion guest speaker was Asheville Brewers Alliance (ABA) President, John Lyda. John presented a brief history of craft beer brewing in North Carolina over the last 30 years. The state went from 1 brewery in the 1980’s to today’s state wide total of 79. John spoke about the positive economic impact craft brewing has made on North Carolina, especially the Asheville area which has been named “Beer City USA” for the last four years! John concluded his presentation discussing various styles of beers and their ingredients.
